He graduated from the University of Malaya in 1979 and subsequently obtained his Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow in 1983.

Consultant General Surgeon, with special interest in Upper GI and HPB surgery, at the Gleneagles Hospital in Kuala Lumpur

He was awarded Fellowships of the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia I, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in, Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and Academy of Medicine of Singapore.
